Surgery
Preparation:
The surgery preparation area has been isolated and improved by installation
of automatic sliding doors. Now, as small animals are prepared for
surgery, they are away from a high traffic area. The surgery suite
is linked to the newly configured imaging center to provide a more
efficient flow of patient services. |

| Anesthesia:
The CAF recently purchased the latest anesthetic monitoring equipment.
This equipment more accurately warns the anesthesiologist when levels
of anesthesia are too deep or too light. |

Surgery:
The CAF also helped purchase new lights for surgery. The "old" lights were installed when the building was constructed. Because lighting technology has improved so much, the new surgical lights make for a dramatic improvement |

| Operating
Microscope: Use a state-of-the-art operating microscope gives
ophthalmologists a high success rate in the delicate work of lens
replacement to restore vision in small animals. This microscope is
outfitted with a video camera on the scope so that the surgical team
can observe the procedures on a closed-circuit monitor. |
