When people see Oreo's cute little face with the tongue hanging out the left side, questions ensue and I relay her story. I always give high praise to ISU and also to our local vets whenever the subject is brought up. I praise not only the skills of those at ISU, but also their compassion. |

In late April of 1996 our local vets referred us to Iowa State for treatment for our Shih
Tzu, Oreo. It was discovered that Oreo had a cancerous lower left mandible, which was then removed. After her surgery at ISU and a few return checkups there, I again relied on our local vets for subsequent checks and treatment.
Oreo adjusted and adapted well after surgery and never lost her exuberance for life, and after nearly four years post surgery I'm pleased to report she is still with us. She has brought us much joy and laughter, as well as love over the past four years, which of course would have been cut short without veterinary intervention. Veterinary medicine is indeed a wonderful thing.
Dixie, Ladora, IA.
In honor of her dog, Oreo.
Oreo was treated by Drs. Leonard Seda, L.C. Wilgenbusch, John Pries, and Brian Hayes of Victor Veterinary Associates in Victor, IA. The surgery was performed by Dr. Kim Cox, formerly of ISU and now of Tampa Bay Veterinary Surgery in Largo, Florida.
