Defaultimage

Shelkie was one of our family. We rescued her in March 1988 from the Ames Animal Shelter. Our two children had left home, our parents were deceased, and we had no grandchildren. Thus, Shelkie was an intimate part of our lives until euthanasia was necessary 12½ years later.

We appreciated the kind and professional attention given to Shelkie by Drs. O'Brien and Loenser and by Jen and the other assistants.

    Shelkie

You may wonder about the name. We thought she was a cross between a Sheltie and a Husky. Thus it was Shelky and finally Shelkie.

Norman and Trudy, Ames, IA.
In memory of their dog, Shelkie.

Shelkie was cared for by Drs. O'Brien and Loenser of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and student assistant Jen Emerson.
