The Pet Loss Support Hotline was established at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine to provide a source of emotional support for those who have lost an animal friend or are anticipating the loss of their pet. It is a free service to those in need thanks to the initial funding from the IAMS Company. We hope that you will find a source of understanding and comfort with our service during this difficult time.
Grieving the loss of a pet is difficult for anyone. Please consider submitting a brief eulogy to the Pet Memorial. To include a eulogy to your pet, read the memorial instructions.
The ISU Pet Loss Support Hotline is a non-profit organization. It is supported entirely through contributions of animal lovers. The IAMS Company has been generous in sponsoring the hotline for the first 3 years. We would also appreciate any donations made in honor of a pet so that we can continue to provide a source of emotional support to those in need.
The Pet Loss Support Hotline maintains printed literature to help you deal with the death or potential loss of your pet. The support packages are free of charge to the public and animal shelters. To receive a support package, please follow these instructions.

The Pet Loss Support Line at ISU is dedicated to the memory of Krista Rankin, class of 1998. Krista was a compassionate person by nature and was very interested in this project. As the IAMS Student Representative, Krista helped to secure the initial funding for the hotline.
