Leading politicians in Sweden,
including the Secretary of Agriculture, have been a driving force in
animal welfare legislation, and Sweden is leading the European Union (EU)
in this area. Swedish laws are now being integrated into the EU agreements
on animal agriculture, but some issues will take years to resolve with the
continued formation of the EU. These are issues that will impact
world-wide animal agriculture. |
