Committee for International Veterinary Opportunities (CIVO)

Veterinary students established the Committee for International Veterinary Opportunities (CIVO) in the Spring of 1998 as a service for both students and faculty.  The CIVO was formed to better facilitate students' interest obtaining in international veterinary experiences. Activities include an annual International Opportunities fair, a Fall faculty-student mixer, monthly meeting with student or faculty speakers to discuss past or upcoming trips. The CIVO promotes the International Veterinary Students' Association to ISU students and encourages them to participate in the IVSA. The President of CIVO is the ISU representative to the IVSA. The mission of the CIVO is:

  • To encourage broadened international veterinary medicine.
  • To expand upon classical veterinary education with a focus on global society.
  • To act as a central resource for international veterinary programs and opportunities by developing and maintaining a catalogue with established contacts and programs.
  • To provide financial support through private funding for scholarships for international veterinary programs.
  • To encourage and increase established international veterinary programs through faculty members.

 


CVM International Committee
(faculty / administrative committee)

The CVM International Committee assists students and faculty in arranging international experiences, seeks funding for international exchanges, reviews Memoranda of Understandings and Memoranda of Agreement with other universities, provides input on international focus areas for the college, and hosts international visitors.

The CVM International Committee is chaired by Dr. Jeff Beetham. Two representatives from the CIVO serve on the committee as well as the following faculty:
