The Department of Veterinary Pathology offers MS and
PhD degrees. Students seeking admission must apply to the Graduate College
Admissions Office. Application materials can be accessed on the
ISU Graduate College website. Applications may be submitted on-line,
downloaded, or mailed. Admission Criteria
Adjunct Instructor: Applicants seeking an adjunct instructor position must
be graduates from a curriculum in veterinary medicine that is similar in
training and didactic courses to accredited veterinary medical colleges in
the United States.
Other graduate positions: Other applicants must be graduates of an
accredited institution and preferably rank in the top quartile of their
class. To pursue a major in either veterinary pathology or clinical
pathology, applicants must be graduates from a curriculum in veterinary
medicine. To pursue a major in cellular and molecular pathology,
veterinary parasitology and veterinary toxicology, applicants should have
a bachelor and/or master degree; or a medical degree (BSN, DDS, MD, DO) or
equivalents. Requirements
The Department strongly recommends that applicants complete the Graduate
Record Examination (GRE) General Test and have an official score submitted
to the Graduate College Admissions Office.
The Department follows the general guidelines outlined by the Graduate
College Application Instructions for TOEFL scores and transcripts. Submit
these with your application to the Graduate Admissions Office as
instructed in the Application Instructions.
The Department requires three letters of recommendation and a one-page
personal statement which should be sent directly to the department at the
address below under Procedure. Deadlines and Timelines
An adjunct instructor position or a graduate position may become available
anytime during the year. Please contact the Director of Graduate Education
(DOGE) for the Department concerning the availability of positions.

Access the
Iowa State University Graduate College website to apply on-line,
download an application, or have application materials mailed.

Follow the Graduate College Application Instructions. Your
application, transcripts and official GRE score must be submitted to the
Graduate College Admissions Office.

Submit a curriculum vitae or resume, and three letters of
recommendation, with a one-page personal statement to:
