Research Interests / Areas of Expertise:
Dr. Thoen conducts investigations on the pathogenesis of Mycobacterium bovis, M. tuberculosis, M. avium paratuberculosis, M. avium and Brucella abortus in domestic and captive wild animals. The focus of research is to provide an improved understanding of host immune responses that can be used in developing improved diagnostic tests.
