VMPM 386 -- Veterinary Microbiology I

Bacteria and fungi of veterinary importance with emphasis on mechanisms of disease production and laboratory diagnostic procedures.

VMPM 387 -- Veterinary Microbiology II

The nature and ecology of animal viruses;  pathogenesis of viral diseases; the role of the immune response in pathogenesis and immunity to viral diseases.

VMPM 388 -- Public Health for Veterinary Medical Students

Principles and practice of epidemiology. Relationships of animals to human health and well being, including zoonotic diseases, sanitation of food products of animal origin, water safety and handling of animal wastes.

VMPM 389 -- Clinical Mycology

Fungal pathogens, common mycotoxins and the associated diseases in animals and humans, with emphasis on clinical laboratory diagnosis.

VMPM 390 -- Topics in Veterinary Medical History

Significant persons, noteworthy events, and pivotal scientific discoveries in the course of the development and advancement of veterinary medicine from ancient times to the present.

VMPM 403 -- Human - Animal Bond

Concepts of the human-animal bond including history, philosophy, and effects on individuals and society.

VMPM 409 -- Infectious Diseases of Captive Wild Animals

Infectious diseases (bacterial, viral and mycotic) of non-human primates, birds, ruminants, cool-blooded animals and carnivores.

VMPM 436 -- Infectious Diseases and Preventive Medicine

History, etiology, epidemiology, laboratory diagnosis, regulatory control and preventive medicine aspects of the infectious diseases of small domestic animals.
