| Research Interests / Areas of Expertise: Dr. Trampel provides extension/outreach programs and activities; diagnostic assistance to the turkey, egg production, and gamebird industries; surveillance programs for avian influenza, avian pneumovirus, and Salmonella enteritidis; and research in poultry diseases. Research areas include avian influenza and peritonitis in laying hens. In addition, he provides telephone and e-mail consultations and information to the public via newspapers, radio, and television interviews.
