The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University has experienced significant structural growth in the last five years. We continue to renovate our hospital to provide quality healthcare to the public and our college to ensure an exceptional education to our students. Tours of the college are provided by the Veterinary Ambassadors, students who are enrolled in the professional curriculum. All visitors must submit a tour request at least 5 working days prior to the requested tour date (see directions for sending request below). Maximum tour size is 10 visitors (no exceptions will be made). We are unable to accommodate “walk-in” visitors.

Name of student (not the parent) who wants the tour

Student's classification: HS Jr, HS Sr, Undergraduate, etc.

NOTE: There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this schedule. If these times do not meet your needs you are encouraged to wait until we post our spring schedule OR come to the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine OPEN HOUSE (see below).
High school (15 years old) and college/post baccalaureate prospective students. Tours include the various classrooms and associated technology, the Packer Heritage Room and college art-work, and the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (small and large animal hospitals).
Children’s groups (Individuals under the age of 15) are provided tours at the annual College of Veterinary Medicine Open House.
College of Veterinary Medicine Open House (April 12, 2014) is a college-wide showcase of the veterinary program. This Open House is geared toward families and prospective students with something for EVERYONE. Displays, hands-on activities, demonstrations, exhibits, seminars and a petting zoo are among the activities offered to visitors. The event is free and open to the public.
