Tracking Dangerous Pathogens – Molecular Epidemiology in the Age of Genomics

Dr. Keim is the Executive Director of the Pathogen and Microbiome Institute at Northern Arizona University, where he also holds the Cowden Endowed Chair in Microbiology and is an Arizona Regents’ Professor.  He pioneered the use of genomics for tracking pathogens back to their sources for both public health and forensic investigations. Dr. Keim is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a founding member and past chairman of the National Science Advisory Board for BioSecurity. He has published over 430 scientific and policy papers, which have been cited almost 28,000 times.
